Born in Glasgow; early years in Kirriemuir; schooling at Glasgow Academy, Glasgow University; London University and study at Edinburgh University couirse.
First work as fraternal worker in Ghana at Tema. Then London for post graduate degree and then school social work in Stirling for three years before becoming the Asst Area Reporter to the children's Hearings. Area Reporter at Ayr and Doon valley and finally regional and authority reporter in Dumfries and Galloway. MCI made me retire at 53 and became an author.
Camp manager in Pakistan following the Earthquake in 2004. Met Usama bin Laden.
Married to the former Miss France, Jocelyn and I have been married for 46 years and have two wonderful daughters Fiiona and Laura.
